The feat enabled “Promise” to hold the No. 1 spot on both SoundCloud’s Top 50 and New & Hot charts for 48 hours. As of Jan. 3, it has over 15 million plays on the music sharing platform. The song was listened to by audiences around the globe, reports SoundCloud. The top 5 countries driving streams to were South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan.
“Promise” surpassed the record set by Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle’ last May by 3.6 million streams, according to SoundCloud. The song, released as a response to Push-T’s inflammatory diss track “Infrared,” recorded 4.9 million streams on the site within 24 hours of its release.
